The Manchester International Festival is an international cultural festival of original new work, that takes place every 2 years. Starts in June/July and usually lasts for 2 week. Spread across the city and taking in both international and local Manchester talent, the MIF commonly known as has a variety of regular big acts including Damon Albarn, Marina Abramovic, Lou Reed and Bjork.
MIF is the biggest summer festival celebrating new culture work, throughout the festival events take place all over the city: Manchester City Art Gallery,
Lowry Theatre at Salford Quays, Palace Theatre and the Manchester Opera House.
This festival has become such as huge cultural event it has even also inspired a miniature festival called The Not Part Of Festival.
